Does WD My Cloud bypass Windows credentials

My question is just like the subject says.  

Once the MC is accessed through Windows Explore the credentials are locked for only the user who accessed the MC unltil a new Windows session is started.  Does the WD My Cloud desktop program bypass Windows’ handling of NAS access credentials so that more than one user can access the MC without having to log out of Windows and then log back on?
