Does MBL have to be connected to wireless router?

I’m a prospective buyer. I’m wondering if I can connect MBL to a regular ethernet outlet (or Livewire switch outlet) or does it absolutely have to be connected to a wireless router? Will it work and will I still get all the functionality?

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question. Just that I looked up the user manual and it only instructs you to connect to a wireless router.  Was wondering if there were other options. Thanks.

No, it doesn’t need to be connected to a Wireless Router…  for that matter, it doesn’t need to be connected to a router at all, if you’re not going to use the internet connectivity features…

Thanks. I didn’t think it would matter, just wanted to make sure. I’ll do a little more research but the MBL looks pretty promising and it’s priced right.
