Does it power off usb when powered off with remote?

I would like to buy a WD TV LIve and connect it to a 2,5" HDD. Since I sleep in the same room, is very important that HDD is powered off when turning off WD TV from the remote (I don’t want to unplug HDD or power source).

Also, when powered off does it have any strong lighted led alway on?

Always eject your hd before powe off

Turning off with the romote will turn off a portable drive as well and no lights will be lit on the drive or the WDTV.

A mains powered desktop drive will not turn off and will still have a light on untill you pull the plug on it.
