Hi everyone, I just bought a WD My Passport (2TB) and plan to use it on Windows 10. Do I need to initialize or format it first, or can I use it directly?

Mine is a 2TB My Passport Ultra Black.
You can use it directly. Most new WD My Passport drives are already formatted and ready for Windows 10. Just plug it in and check if it shows up in File Explorer. Only format or initialize it if Windows does not detect it or prompts you to do so. Also worth checking the file system once so you know everything looks normal before storing important files.
