Do Any of the WD External Drives Support Windows Server 2008 R2?

Hello all,

I purhcased a WD My Book Essential as an interim backup solution for a newly-developed Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V environment, but the drive is not being recognized.  In Device Manager, I’m seeing “Unrecognized USB Device”; any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

You drive is not supporting for following OS’s.

Server 2008, Server 2003, 2000 Server, 2000, ME, 98SE, 98, 95

WD ShareSpace is the only external device supporting Server 2008
