Hello,
I heard about WDTV is unable to play subtitles and other stuffs by streaming DLNA server.
Is it right?
I should use NFS or SMB protocol?
Thanks

If they’re external to the video file, then yeah, it can be a problem
Yes it is, something like .srt file
in general DLNA servers don’t support external subtitles
there are very few exceptions
serviio, can remux on the fly to add your subititles - so WD would receive the subtitle as a hardcoded sub
plex, has costom extensions to support subtitles, but they are outside of DNLA spec, so will only work with plex as the client as well as server
My server is a Synology DS213+.
I feel a better response with NFS except some folders I don’t want to see on my TV
