DLNA Database not updating

I have recently noticed a problem with the DLNA database on my 2tb MyBookLive.

After adding some videos they are not visible on my TV.
Others added some time ago are viewable.

I can see the videos in the folder structure and can view in apps on my iPad which do not use DLNA.
A rebuild of the database cures this problem, but I do not want to have to do this every time I add files.

Can you assist please.

I also have problems viewing photos added recently in the WD Photos app on the IPad. A new folder in which the files reside is also not visible.

Can anyone help with this issue as well

Regards

Pete

I always started a manual DLNA database update when I wanted to access the movies right away. If you wait long enough, perhaps several hours or a day, the database will eventually update. Mine did.

Install Twonky 8. The DLNA server that comes with MBL isn’t very good.

Question: Do you have set the parameter byte setting the update mode to “-1” in the Twonky web configuration screen.
For information this web screen is available at the URL http://yourMBLip:9000
Into the “share” option.
Using “-1” setting tell Twonky to automatically add any new addition to your multimedia folders into the dlna index. However if you add a big bunch of files at the same time it’s better to lunch a manual rescan using the same web config screen or the standard MBL user interface.

I do not use Twonky.
I use the WD DLNA server
