when i plug in my hard drive I get a message disk not readable by computer. It comes up but I cant open it.
ive tried repairing in disk utility but comes up unable to unmount volume to repaire.

It is possible the partition is corrupted and you will have to format the drive in orde rto use it again. Please note that formatting the drive will destroy all data stored on it.
