Disk is 100% full - just plugged it in!

I just plugged in a new My Passport Essential 500GB external drive to my laptop, which runs Vista (although not for long…). Installed the driver(s). Windows Explorer is telling me that the drive is completely full - can’t save anything to it. ALso, tried deleting unneeded WDC files from the drive (foreign language manuals) but access was denied. I have sole admin rights on my laptop.

So basically this thing is useless. Any ideas to get it up and running?

Were you able to get this running?  If not, maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.
