After reformatting my 500gb my passport external hard drive to dish dvr to use for that i changed my mind and tried to reformat back to NTFS on my PC. However when i plugged in the external hard drive to the PC it was not recognized anymore. WD smartware is blinking and saying drive discovering but it never changes, and when i open smartware it says" No writable WD smartware partition found". I dont know how to reformat without windows seeing the hard drive and allowing me to change it. Thanks for any help in advance!
Are you able to see the drive in Disk Management?
