I’m thinking of buying the WD® My Book With External Backup Hard Drive, 4TB, but didn’t see if it supports multiple backup activities. I have general folders/files to back up when they change. I also have a database product that cannot be backed up while it is executing. I would like to manually start the backup of the database. For instance, can I have one general backup running for certain files when they change and another defined backup for the database that I manually start? Can I have backups set for different folders/files at different times of the day or day of the week?

Currently, the backup app that comes with the unit does not have that option that allows you to set multiple backups at different times.
If you can get a third party app that does that, you can use the unit as the destination.
