Desktop crashed - can't restore MyBook files on laptop

My desktop just crashed.  I plugged MyBook Essentials into laptop, updated the software.

The program opens but the only tabs at the top of the page the are activated are:  Home, Settings, and Help

The Backup and Restore tabs are inactive.

I think I solved the problem myself.
