Dell PC Doesn't Read G-Drive

I purchased a G-Drive mobile to move my files from my Dell to my new Mac because the salesman at the Apple store said I could do that. When I connect the G-drive to my Dell, It doesn’t recognize on “This PC” . I can see it in my settings but I can’t transfer files. What am I doing wrong?

All G-Technology products are formatted for Mac only out of the box. In order to use it on both you will need to reformat it.

The easiest way if you have a Mac already is to just attach it there, use the Disk Utility that is built into the Mac and erase the drive as an ‘exFAT’ drive. This will make it usable on both platforms.

Is there a way to format it on a Dell notebook with Windows 7?
