Deleting Time Machine backups

How does one go in an delete Time Machine backups now?

In a previous firmware, there used to be a ‘Backup’ section which listed the individual machines being backed up by Time Machine, with an easy way to delete them. But now this has been replaced by a ‘Safepoints’ section that doesn’t provide anything useful.

I’ve gotten rid of an old machine I used to backup and wanted to clear some of the space taken by it, and I expected to be able to do this easily… disappointing.

Hi Sebastien, when Time Machine backs up to a network device, it stores the files in a sparse bundle file (essentially a single disk image file that grows as more space is needed, to delete this file, you can map the Time Machine share folder and delete the sparse bundle file from there.
