My Cloud os5 8Tb drive all of a sudden goes offline. Look at drive & led is flashing red! No communication at all.
Afyer reboot several times, i remove hard drive and connect to my pc…it doesn’t even recognize it connected!
I vanr over 4 tb worth of data on there!!!

That’s because the file format of the drive is not compatible. You need to download recovery software to be able to view/copy the files from it.

Make sure you download the windows version. Of course you will need enough storage elsewhere to save your content.
I also put it in my Linux machine. Dell T330 8 port blade server runing open Suse 13.
Also ran Ubuntu on my laptop with a sata-usb adapter. Nuthin!
Can you retrieve a SMART report? If not, then this would suggest that the drive cannot access its firmware area, which in turn would imply that it has internal problems.
