Data Lifeguard Diagnostic DOS - major issue

Hi,

I just built a brand new desktop with a Caviar Black 1 TB SATA 6GBPS.

I usually do a zero fill of the hard drive before installing an OS.

I have the drive connected in AHCI mode to the Intel Z68 chipset’s SATA controller.

However, Data Lifeguard diagnostic does not work on my system.

In AHCI mode, it does not detect my drive. (Although the BIOS can see it.)

In IDE mode, it throws the error “Unable to locate the license file, DLGLICE.TXT”.

This is plain ridiculous and just unacceptable from a major drive maker, as Western Digital.

Where do I go from here? I do not have a floppy drive to boot the FDD version.

Thanks,

Trinanjan.

Try with an IDE CD-ROM, that’s the only thing that seems to work when you get that error.
