I have a WD20EARX 2tb drive removed from a little used machine. connected via a docking station. Win7 disk management tells me it isn’t initialised. when I tell windows to initialise it I get the above message. Anybody got any ideas please

It seems that there may be some bad sector due to which this error appeared. You may try to use CHKDSK command in Windows Command Prompt to remove cyclic redundancy check error. Otherwise, you can go with data recovery tool to restore data files from the drive.
