Data all lost - device reset itself after power off

Hi all,

I recently had a warning come up that the fan wasn’t working in my Ultra EX2, I turned the device off until I had time to check it properly - after I turned it back on (about two weeks later) I had a double solid red drive lights, after trying the 4 second reset, it seems that my whole NAS has reset and I have lost all my data. I had to go back through the admin setup, etc to view this. It’s recognising the hard drives, but showing that there is 0MB of capacity. Funnily enough the fan seems to be working fine now.

Although I feel like it’s unlikely that I will be able to recover anything. I would appreciate any suggestions of what I could try to get my data back, as like a fool I was depending on the drives being in RAID 1 for back-up.

Has anyone tried the ReclaMe software before?

Massively appreciate any help!

Sorry to hear that. A 4-seconds reset doesn’t sound enough to re-format 2 disks, perhaps it just wiped out the indexer file instead. So there is a probability that your file is still sitting there, just indexer went missing.

I guess your best option is go find a professional data-recovery services - if those data are utmost important to you. Be prepare to pay , their price quote will make you think twice, if those data are worthy that much money…

Good luck
