Dashboard MIA?

Folks,

I can no longer access the dashboard.  I know saying, “No longer”, implies an event that caused the dashboard to disappear, but I have no idea what I could have done to cause this.

I have tried…

  • reading the manual

  • ensuring I was trying to access it from a valid scenario (like with a music of video file selected)

  • been through the WD forums here

  • Googled until the electrons begged for mercy

  • put the Harmony down and used the native remote

  • been through the setup/options numerous times

Symptom #1 - I am at the home screen.  I press the down arrow per the user’s manual.  Nothing happens.

Symptom #2 - I have an appropriate file highlighted (a specific video file or audio file).  I press the blue button.  Nothing.  Nada.  Zilch.

Please let this be me missing a blinding glimpse of the obvious or PEBCAK (Problem Exists Between Chair and Keyboard).

If media library is set to no, then dashboard is disabled.

Sounds like some reading up on the purpose/functionaltiy of the media library is in order.

My apologies for the distraction.  I hope my gaffe might help another.
