Dashboard connectivity timeouts and slow file indexing when running background automation tasks

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to reorganize some large backups on my My Cloud Home and manage my shares through the web dashboard recently, but I’ve hit a persistent technical snag where the interface becomes incredibly sluggish and the “indexing” status seems to hang indefinitely.

I am currently using a https://deltaexeutor.com/vng/ community setup to handle some automated local logging and script execution for my file organization in the background while I work. I’ve noticed that whenever the background executor starts a heavy processing cycle, my interaction with the WD dashboard starts to “hang.” It’s particularly noticeable when I’m trying to move large folders or check the health status of my drives, as the browser often triggers a “Device Offline” error even though the drive is still connected.

It feels like the background process is competing for the same system resources—specifically CPU threads and local network bandwidth—that the browser needs for the dashboard’s real-time state management. I have a few related concerns for the experienced users here:

I’m not sure if the way a style environment manages its internal threading is causing a direct resource contention issue with the browser’s hardware acceleration or the specific local drivers used for secure drive mapping. Has anyone else encountered performance bottlenecks or “Socket Connection” timeouts while running high-level script executors alongside their WD management tools? I am also wondering if there is a recommended way to isolate the executor’s CPU priority so it doesn’t “starve” the resources needed for stable drive indexing and dashboard responsiveness.

I really need to keep this automation active to stay on top of my administrative logs, but the constant UI lag is making it difficult to maintain my backups properly. If anyone has experience optimizing a workstation for concurrent usage of heavy script executors and WD’s web-based tools, I’d love to hear your advice!

Best regards!
