Dashboard Cloud Access

Can someone please provide step by step instructions as to how to connect to the dashboard remotely once dashboard cloud access has been turned on. What do I need to do on my device that is outside of the network my EX4 is on

Hi,

Please see page 113 and 114 of the user manual, you will see all the instructions to access the dashboard remotly.

Yeah, so reading and trying to follow the directions in the user manual has gotten me only frustrated.  I have the Dashboard access enabled.  I have the EV4 setup with a static ip.  If I am away from my EV4, what do I use to access the dashboard?  How would my laptop know what the WAN ip address for my home network is?   Doesn’t make sense to me.  I have the EV4 HTTP port set at 8080 and the port forwarding in my router (at least I think I do… how can I tell?).  So based off the instructions from the manual, I would type http://xxx.xxx.x.x:8080 to reach the EV4.   Shouldn’t it be the WAN address for the gateway?

From manual…

If you set your Cloud Setting to Manual, you will have to access your device remotely using the ports you selected during the manual cloud setup.
Example: If you setup your manual HTTP port as 5040, you’d use the following address to access your device: http://:5040.

Confirmed ports 8080 and 443 and 21 are open for HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP.

What next?

That’s all there is to it.

Connect from the outside via:

http://ip.address.of.your.router.wan:8080

…and you’re in.

It won’t.   That’s up to you to know.

Or, you can use any of the myriad dynamic DNS providers that will allow you to use a name instead of an IP, and will keep track of that IP address for you.

By the way, it’s an EX4, not an EV4…

So, I think I must be missing some setting somewhere.  Verified the ports are forwarded.  Setup a dynDNS and the router is updating the IP with dynDNS.

Still getting “Failed to open page”

If it made it to the EX4 (sorry late night in SE Asia), then I would expect a login request.

Any other ideas?

Thanks for the help.

Got it to work.  Had to actually get off my LAN (used cellphone hotspot).  Issue was in a loopback, I think.  Still have port conflicts (80 and 8080) to work with other devices and a crazy router that I can find nothing about on the internet (Huawei TRG212M).

But, I do have it working with https on port 443.

Thanks for the help.
