Customize LCD output?

is there a way i could customize the LCD output?

instead of having the 3rd show the number of drives i have (lolz)… it would be great to be able to see the 3 reported temperatures.

perhaps by a script or some other means?..  if not, is there an API I can work with?

As far as I know the led, is only for status and alert messages, it will show an alert message when the temperature is high, but it wont show the temperature. Check the link below for more info.

The LCD isn’t customizable by end-users and there is no public API available to do so.

just sayin’…

how did you do it?

or is that photoshop?

It’s probably been done through LcdTxt.efi, which resides on the EFI partition.

Look at startup.nsh on how to use it.

you’ll need to stop the WD LCD Provider service and execute the LCD.exe program from command prompt to do it… which, probably isn’t recommended since WD has a whole suite of providers working in tandem on the system.

but, yes that’s a real photo… not photoshop’d.
