Hello, guys.
In my head doesn’t fit the following:
According to WD Model Numbers Info Sheet - 2579-001028.pdf ( http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/other/2579-001028.pdf) WD1002FAEX is NOT Advanced Format Drive: second letter “A” means “Desktop/WD Blue; WD Green; WD Black; WD Caviar”.
Also in Internet there are a lot of of technical reviews, where it is said that this hard drive doesn’t support “Advanced Format” technology.
But why in the official specification ( http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/SpecSheet/ENG/2879-771434.pdf) indicates that all current WD Black hard drives support this technology?
Why the discrepancy in the official sources of information? And where is true info?
______
Forgot to add: have a WD1002FAEX- 00Z3A0 ; manufactured: february 2013.

Also, If you look closely on each page of WD drives series (Black, Blue, Green, Red or VelociRaptor), on some pages (e.g. Blue, Green) specified “Advanced Format”, but on the other - not specified (e.g. Black or VelociRaptor). But in all of the specifications like a blueprint: “Advanced Format - Yes”. But i do know exactly that blue drive 10EALX doesn’t support Advanced Format, and in turn newer drive 10EZEX support this technology, that agrees with WD Model Numbers Info Sheet, but is contrary to the specifications.
And judging from observations, in hard disk drives (except the Red drives) with AF there is mention of it on the label.
