I recently bought the WD Sharespace 4TB and everything works fine, except I cannot setup cTorrent. It is just not visible in the setup GUI. When I login as downloader / downloader I only see the tabs Tasks and Settings.
But according the manual, I should have the following tabs http/ftp and cTorrent.
The ports 2106 until 2706 are open, and the latest firmware is active (according the system).
Has anyone had this problem and solved it. Please let me know.
What firmware version are you running, and have you done any upgrades? If you go to http:///ctcs/b_index.php?lang=en, does it do anything (replace “wdsharespace” with the name or IP address of your drive)?
I get a 404 not found, and I’m running 2.1.92.> According to the manual, it should be in the download manager… but it is not.> * * *

Sorry, due to a holiday, I didn’t check this forum.
Still no solution. Even not from the WD Supportdesk. The first-line of support couldn’t help me (they responded everytime very quickly) and this ticket is now send to the second line of support. But since the last 8 days, I didn’t hear anything from them.
Today I recieved an email from the WD support desk. For the interested between us, I have translated this email (into english) by Freetranslation.com. So if there are some strange mistaked in the email, don’t blaim me.
Unfortunately, the solution did not work for me, because this solution only shows me how the http/ftp downloads work and not the torrent. At the end, I can download a torrent file (i.e. file123.torrent), but the real download (initiated by cTorrent) never started. I hope anybody else has more luck. I will get back to the supportdesk.
Answer from the Support desk
_Thank you for your reply.
We apologize for the late reply. We do our best to reply within the prescribed time, but sometimes it can take longer.
I checked with our second line support and I understand that the interface has changed and is no longer equal to the manual.
It is indeed the correct screen you see in front of you . And when you want to enter a URL of the site ctorrent, press the blue plus sign button and then in a separate window to can enter it._
_Under the Settings tab you can set the download speed and the download will be able to start.
Replied to support desk that the answer was complete nonsense. I will wait for a new answer.
Furthermore, I noticed that there is new firmware available. Maybe it is fixed here, but first I have to read about any complications upgrading to this new firmware.
Have you tried the CTorrent yet. My experience with it is that it is almost useless. If there is more that one file in the Torrent, you don’t seem to be able to choose which files to download - it tries to download everything. The Task tab does not seem to show the progress of the torrent download - it just shows 0% complete, even after I have left it running for hours. So there is no way to know if the torrent has finished. I have stopped a torrent download and deleted the task from the CTorrent Task Manager, but I can’t delete the files that It downloads. It seems that the CTorrent application has locked the file, even though I have stopped and deleted the task.
Have you had any better luck with CTorrent. I am going back to UTorrent on my PC.
