Creating a root folder

Hi I am trying to record to set mybooklive up as storage for my wireless cctv cameras and it says I need to create a root folder I assume in the same location as music, photo, storage, video.

How do I do this? I assume the ip address would the be 192.168.1.x/camera?

thanks

Not enough context to answer that question.

Can you provide a link to the camera user manual?

http://static.ucam247.com/upload/files/UCam247_Recording_to_NAS_Setup.pdf

so I’ve created a share called Ucam247. I assume the url is now 192.168.1.x/UCam247?

However I’m still unable to record to the NAS…

I’ve set up the username and password as my nas access username and password.

thanks in advance

Did you give “admin:” (or whatever your nas access username is) write access to the new share? That’s the step I usually miss. I forget too give the appropriate user write access to the new share.

Yes I’ve definitely given access when I created the share.

Does the share get created at root does anyone know? So for example 192.168.1.n/Cam247?

In mywd I can see Cam247 (which was a share I created) as a folder along with the default ones: Music, Photos, Public, TimeMachine.

Are you doing the correct syntax?

The documentation says you should precede the address with two forward slashes. Such as //192.168.1.n/Cam247

yup
