Crashing when opening one particular folder

Hi

It appears to be that when I try to access the folder whcih I have all my pictures saved in my external hard drive disconnects itself. All other folders can be accessed with no problem and I can see all the sub folders within the folder I’m having issues with, but when I try to access any of them, that’s when it freezes and eventually disconnects.

Any ideas why this might be? I’m scared that I may lose all my pictures.

The folder could have gotten corrupted.

Try testing the drive with our Data Lifeguard Diagnostics and make sure to backup all important data ASAP.

Thanks for your help. I tried the Diagnostics tool but it didn’t show my much other than a failure on the drive so I’m not really sure what to do next.
