Copying from USB mounted drive on my Mac to My Cloud

Hello - I have setup My Cloud as indicated in the My Cloud Optimum Data Migration. I have My Cloud mounted on my desktop and I want to backup another 4TB hard drive that is mounted aswell via USB. My question is if while copying I will be using any bandwidth or this will be local? I hope my question is clear.

If the USB is connected directly to the My Cloud then the answer is “No, you are not using any bandwidth”.

If the USB is connected to the computer then the answer is “Yes, you will be using bandwidth”.
