Copy USB button greyed out even after all steps completed

So I wanted to copy some files from my Seagate Expansion to my new My Cloud Home. The Copy USB button is available to use but I need to move a few folders around so I unplug the drive and move the folders around but when I plug it back in the Copy USB button is greyed out now. I unplug and plug in the drive but it makes no difference. I shutdown it down but still nothing changes. I have followed all the steps but still nothing changes. That drive is a compatible drive too by the way. I need hep since I have lots of files on that drive and I want to copy the files directly from the drive to the NAS. Any tips? :man_shrugging:

Hello,

Please refer to the following KBA article: Error

My limited experience after a few initial trials is that the MCH does not support repeatedly USB hot plugs very well once the USB is removed but will recognize the USB drive the first time it is (hot) plugged to the MCH.

So your best bet is to shut down command cycle (issue shut down command, wait then unplug then re-plug the power) or reboot the MCH, then plug in the USB drive to the MCH and leave it there. If you need to remove the USB drive, you should repeat the process. This may not seem like a very efficient procedure, but it seems to be the most reliable one.

Okay, I’ll try that now
