Copy small files via network drive very slow / freeze crash reboot

Hi all,
I own an (already swapped) Mycloud Home Duo. When I attempt to copy files to the drive via mapped network drive / WD DIscovery software, after approx. 100 files with each 3-5MB, the copy process comes to a 0b/s and continues after a few seconds. It’s worse with even smaller files, i.e. from portable apps.

Another problem I’ve experienced is that sometimes the drive even freezes and reboots, I can reproduce this behaviour with a specific mopr music folder, which contains the soundtrack of Jurassic Park. No special chars, not too long file names. If I do not stop the copy process (kill the explorer task), the drive will eventually reboot. None of the files in that album folder have been copied than, but it stopped after 3 to 10 files. Copying the folder from USB to WIndows or elsewhere works just fine.

System: Windows 10 1803 64b, WD Discovery 3.0.377, from WD Elements USB 3.0 1TB to WD MyCloud or via internal M.2

@Stefan-Dus please check your antivirus, internet security and end point protection software. The following article may help.

Hello, thats not helping. Im using it in a fresh installed Windows 10 PC without any extra security or anti malware software installed. ANd if this may help, that also occurred with the old (swapped for harddisk error) device on another PC that was not freshly installed. It has to be software or firmware. Ithink it cannot handle many small files so well. THe harddisks should be more than capable.

@Stefan-Dus I’m unable to duplicate this issue and recommend opening a support case with network topology, connection methods, WD Discovery and My Cloud Home Desktop App as well as the My Cloud Home debug logs.
