Copy or transfer from PR2100 through USB to 16TB WD HD

I have a PR2100 with 2 2TB drives set up as spanning that I’m wanting to transfer to a new 16 TB drive.

I bought a SATA to USB adapter and plugged the 16 TB HDD into the front of the PR2100, but can’t access it. I downloaded some of the available apps hoping to be able to format the thing and start transferring.

Could anyone here could steer me in the right direction?
