am converting from using my MY BOOK Essential with PC (Windows XP) and am converting to iMac. Please advise on what I do? Replace software?

Dude, I don’t get your post. You mean you want to use a MyBook Essential on a Mac? If so then Awopero’s right and you just need to format the drive on Disk utility, no software needed.
If that’s not it then what is it that you’re trying to do?
