Content Source Has Been Removed

My son recently downloaded DVD’s to my computer and then transferred them to the file link in mybook external hard drive which is connected to a tv and to HDMI1.

I have able to access the system several times and watch the DVD’s without any trouble however when I now try to access the system it flags a notation:  “the last content source has been removed - please select a new content source”.

I subsequently hit the remote ok button which then brings up on the screen 3 options: (1) local storage (2) media storage (3) netwok share.

However, each time I click on any option it flags: “no storage present”.

How can this problem be overcome and could I have the solution in a simple dot form fashion - I am recovering from a brain injury and I need things to be explained in a very easy manner.

I would be really grateful if you are to asssist me.

Many thanks

turvey,

It is possible your WD My Book is no longer accessible by your TV. There are many possible reasons that could result on such occurrence ranging from communication issues because of the USB cable, to overall drive health.

I would recommend running a test on your computer with the disk drive connected after changing the USB cable in order to confirm drive status, as instructed in the following link:
