I recently took delivery of an 8TB ShareSpace and have retained the default RAID-5. Two things I’ve noticed about this disk and am wondering if anyone else has had or is having these problems:
(1) Even when there are NO reads or writes taking place, this disk will sound as if there are. I’ve been in IT for nearly 30 years now and I know that sounds. However and as mentioned, there are no reads or write taking place. Just a constant sound as if there were…this disk never stops making that sound. There is NO LED activiy other than the LED’s remaining lit. Additionaly, the Status within the GUI shows all disks as “Good”.
(2) When copying video files from the local disk to the ShareSpace I’ve noticed that neither the Size nor Duration of any video file is displayed. Only two dashes. However, this information is present on the Source.
