Connecting to College network?

Hi, my daughter is now living in a university college that has internet connection via wall socket. She owns a Mac Airbook, which has no network port. While still at home I bought a WD N900 router, which worked fine for her here.

I installed up at College and I can not get internet. We can “see” the routers wireless network, but no connection to outside internet.

Obviously I have no access to college internet setup, any suggestions. Please not to much tech as I am 63 yr newbie!

You should change the device mode to "AP (Access Point) Mode.  You’ll have to access the portal page via your web browser (Safari) - http://wdrouter ; then go to advance settings; then to admin; then to device mode.

Also the default username/password should be admin:admin if it’s still stock.
