I purchased a WD external hard drive to store all of my movies and music on. I’m now trying to watch these movies through my Sony smp-n200 streaming player. I cannot connect the hard drive via USB directly to the player b/c it’s 3TB. I found out after I bought it that the smp-n200 can’t connect anything larger than 300gb via USB. Is there a way the streaming player will find the movies on the external hard drive while it is connected to my computer? Right now, I can watch movies that are stored on my PC. Once I move them to the external drive, I can’t watch them. Any ideas?

If the media player can see the computer it should also see the external drive while connected
