Connecting external USB 3.0 2-bay dock to MyCloud EX2 - only one drive is mounted

Hello,
i have a two bay dock connected via USB3 to my EXT2 but only 1 disk appears in the web control panel, however i can mount it via ssh (/dev/sdc) but then it will not be recognized by the control panel and is therefore not accessible as share.
This is my dock: https://www.sharkoon.com/product/1686/10066#specs
Chip: JMS551

Any solutions or workarounds here? I would be satisfied if i can mount the second disk in a way that it is accessible via the control panel.

Thank you very much!

Hello,

Not sure if this is possible. I haven’t seen another user connection a USB Dock station to this unit.

Let’s see if any of the users can share some information about it.

yes it is possible, the second drive is detected by the underlying OS. However i must mount it manually, so it is only a question regarding implementation of the software of the ex2.
There are several threads on this forum with people having the same issue…

for example:

Is this issue already in progress? It seems more to be a bug than a new feature, because External Drives, which are connected via powered usb hub are functioning.
Where can I find the logfiles, to see if mounting or the software throws an error?

Edit: this is the output of the dmesg command. I cleared it before plugging in the USB drive.

Both drives are formatted properly and i can access them both on my macbook. They are mounted on the WDMycloud when only 1 drive is inserted in the dock, regardless which slot.
AS i already said, i can mount the second drive manually but then it isn’t recognized as share…

any updates on this issue? It is definitely a bug as the HDD is detected but not mounted due to a error occurring…

ok did you try to swap the HDD location and see. And try mouting 1 at a time both drive and see.

What do you mean with “swap the HDD location”? Yes, i plugged the dock in the other usb port in as well. Mounting 1 drive only works flawlessly.

As you say its dual HDD dock. Try to swap the HDD from 1 to 2 and 2 to 1.

Then see if the 1st or 2nd HDD is getting mounted. If this time 2nd HDD is mounted then problem is with HDD 2 which was previous slot but now in 1st slot. Hope you understand what i am trying to say,

Yeah now i get it :). Yes, i did that and it doesn’t matter. It is always the one in the same slot that is mounted. This means it is independent from the HDD

Ok now you say that 2nd HDD is now mounted without any issues.

Let try this way. Instead of mounting both HDD . Try with 1 and then try with 2nd later part.

Hope the Dock is plug and play. If it doesnt dont try as data is more important.
