Connecting 2 EX2 models together

Hi, I have an EX2 model but I am running out of space and need to expand or buy another model.

My question is:

If I buy another EX2 model with more capacity could I connect both models in series, or should they be different models.

In this case I could make one backup of the other + data, but I would have 2 different entry points.

What other options do we have?
