I am looking for both a cloud accespoint for several computers and a redundant backup (in case one drive fails). Can I simply plug one of the “My Cloud” drives into the other? Or do I set both of them up and then somehow, have one mirror the other? Also I read on one of WD forums that WD states that hard drives should never be left on 24/7 but does not this “My Cloud” concept need to be up and running 24/7 in order for one to access the content remotely?
You can leave it on 24/7. As for setting up two drives, you can have one drive do a Safepoint backup (which will backup the My Cloud onto the other). The Safepoint backup is feature on the WD nas drives.

No.

It’s not a “mirror,” per se. A “safepoint” from one can be stored on the other.

I’d like to see where you read that. As far as NASes are concerned, that’s absolute poppycock. :)
