Connect with USB Cable?

My wireless connection no longer works so I need to recover the files via USB cable. Ive connected the MyCould Home device to my iMac desktop but the drive does not show up. Any suggestions for recovering these files?

The USB port is not for connecting to a host device like a computer.

If your wireless connection no longer works … try a wired connection

ie. an Ethernet Cable connected to your Router and the My Cloud Home.

Thank you. But we no longer have a wireless internet as we switched to a Verizon hotspot.

A range extender could connect wirelessly with a hotspot and output ethernet to MCH.

Cannot manage to connect MyCloud Home to laptop

WD is not going to support how you connect the My Cloud Home (MCH) through a range extender and to your network and internet. You will have to buy a range extender device such as the Netgear EX3700 and see if it will mesh with your Huawei mobile wifi hotspot and from there you should be able to connect the ethernet to the MCH. You can search for a device with something like ‘wireless+range+extender+with+ethernet+port’ criteria. The connection would look something like this and the easiest way…
