Connect USB 2,0 to USB 3,0 port on external drive

I purchased a “WD My Passport Portable External Hard Drive”, which has a USB 3.0 connector, but I need to download data from a computer with USB 2.0 connectors. How can I do that ? Thanks for any thoughts. PHB

Hi,

Did you try to use the USB 3.0 on the USB 2.0. I have done that with no problems. The two are backward compatible.

Thanks for your response. I was not aware that the hardware for USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 connectors were the same size,
and that was concerning me. The connector fit both computers just fine, and I did get the data transferred.
