I have an old My Cloud which is no longer supported which works perfectly with my Smart TV and other devices. However, i have since upgraded to the Home Duo 4TB but can’t connect directly to my Smart TV. After hours of tinkering, i have managed to link to PLEX, however my laptop needs to stay powered on for my Smart TV to play media. I don’t want to leave my laptop powered on. i want to be able to do what the old one did.
- Do not run PMS on your laptop for now, temporarily use another PC if needed or disable PMS.
- Enable MCH Plex under Do More, from the webapp signed into your home.mycloud.com
- Enable DLNA under Plex which is now running from My Cloud Home (MCH) instead of your laptop.
The instruction is all in the Knowledgebase in WD as well as Plextv
There is limited support for Plex from WD other than supplying the installation setup.
