All:
It looks like WD is only selling drives with “cloud” features and integrated RAID support. So with that in mind does that mean all other drives WD sells rely on the host OS in my case Mac OS X to control and maintain the raid configuration? I’d prefer a hardware raid solution like in the past, but it looks like that isn’t possible in the late model drives. Comments? Thoughts?

Hello, welcome to the community.
Unfortunately all of WD USB/Thunderbol/Firewire drives rely on the OS to maintain and control tha RAID. You could go to the External Drive Ideas board and post it as an idea.
