Computer won't read FAT32?

Hey guys, here’s my situation.

A few days ago, I accidently dropped my WD Passport drive and it stopped working. After hours of failing to recover the data, I decided to format the hard drive instead. However, since then I couldn’t get my PS3 to read it, so I did some research and found that it only reads FAT32 drives.

I downloaded and used the WD FAT32 Formatter to format it back to it’s original factory FAT32 partition, but now it can’t be read on my computer. Everytime I try to open it, I get this message.

“The disk in Drive D is not formatted. Do you want to format now?”

Thus, I am stuck in a loop. When I format it on my computer, my PS3 won’t read it. If I format it to FAT32, my computer won’t read it.

Any ideas on what I should do?

Your hard drive may have bad sectors.

Try re-format it on your computer, choose FAT or FAT32. (Do not use the WD quick formatter)

Be sure to choose FULL format, It may take a while to complete.

it will check and verify all drive sectors.

If any bad sectors found, it might correct it or it might fail the formatting.
