I have a WD 80GB Passport drive (USB 2.0), Model WD800U017. After working for several years, my computer suddenly does not recognze it. It wants to install a Cypress AT2LPRC42 driver which I do not have and the computer can’t find. I tried to research it on Google. What I have found is that the driver is not missing but the EEPROM on the external hard drive needs to be reprogrammed. Does anyone know how I can do this or find the program needed to do it?

What about if you reinstall the drivers… I mean you can uninstall that and then installed again.

Thanks for your reply but I don’t ave the drivers. Is it possible to get them from Western Digital?
