Common WD software/drivers?

Hi guys,

I just thought Id ask whether anyone knows if WD use common software and drivers.

Is for example, the drivers and apps for My Book 3Tb the same fo_r My Book 2Tb_ and also the same for My Passport 1Tb etc… etc…

A second reason for asking is to ensure no clashes/problems occur if using two WD devices on the same computer.

Anyone know - or - anyone know if there’s a way to find out.

The drivers are built into Windows.  That’s why you can’t use external drives with Server versions of Windows – Microsoft doesn’t provide drivers for USB.

I’ve never had issues with connecting multiple flavours of My Book Essentials drives at the same time… I don’t own other drive series to test with, but I’ve never seen anyone report a clash.
