Is it possible to use WD Cloud home as classic external hard drive? Can i access to data on it through usb port?
the only way you can use a WD MyCloud Home as a DAS (Direct Attached Storage)
is to remove the internal hard drive … and put it in an External USB enclosure and format it for Windows or Mac (the drive is formatted EXT4 Linux in the Cloud Home)
External USB enclosures cost less than $20
Not always @JoeySmyth. I also use my own as traditional NAS; I connect it behind my router and access it with any phone or computer on my network. I’ve already wrote about that subject.
