Cloned image doesn't match source disk size when using Acronis

The past two times I’ve used Acronis True Image WD Edition, I’ve notied that the cloned drive file size is smaller than the source disk. I justed cloned my drive an hour ago and see that the clone is 15Mb smaller than the source disk. What could account for this difference? A clone means a 100% copy, does it not?

Thanks,

Andy

Hello,

The only thing that comes to my mind is that for some reason the software is using the Drive Deployment  option that enables users to prepare a WD drive so that selected folders or partitions can be excluded from the destination image.

Make sure that you are not selecting that option.

Help4All, thanks for your reply, but that’s not even an option when doing a clone. This problem happens every time I use Acronis (and I just upgraded to the newest version before doing my lateset drive backup).

Thanks,

Andy
