Chkdsk and WD diagnostics will not work on WD1600bb

I have a WD Caviar WD1600BB which can be seen by the computer but can’t be read. I tried “Chkdsk” from the computer system but it just froze and did nothing. then I tried WD diagnostics but did not recognize the HD. Is there a way to be able to access the contents of the disk and save in another media if the disk has reached its end of life?
Computer is a Dell Power Edge 830.
Windows 10 Pro
4GB RAM

Hi, if the computer is not recognizing the drive and freeze when you try to do anything with it, most likely the drive is dead, I would suggest you to contact a professional data recovery company to attempt to get the information out.
