I can’t check my external hard disk for errors.

1TB home edition
i used wd diagnostic (~8 hours, 5 files problems) and it have some error with repair;
scheduled check disk won’t start,
TuneUp disk doctor won’t start …
why I need to do?

I have laptop and it is completly silent only external hard disk make some noise;

i know it is spinning but how can u reduce noise?

If Data Lifeguard showed errors and you can’t not tested with other utility it would be recommended to replace the unit.

You can try  right click on drive then go to properties then tools and run the test
