Center light blinks then unit turns itself off? hlp plz!

been watching video from an external oneT HDD for about 3 weeks (the time I’ve owned it), then after doing nothing different- when I tiurn the media hub, the tv sceen says WD TV ‘Loading’ for about 1-2 mins then then center light flashes for a few seconds and the unit turns itself off.

I’ve done all the trouble shhooting, used no externals, both usb plugs.  Still just shuts itself off after the center flashes and tv screen says WD TV ‘Loading’.  Always takes about 1-2 mins.  Help please!  Thanks in advance to ne who can help.

There has been several posts about this.

The fix: Disconnect the hardware power button inside the unit.

Please note that this may break your warranty.

If you dont wanna do this… return the unit.

  • My unit started doing this today, and i just did it a few hours ago, working perfectly.

Opening your WD TV Live Hub will void the warranty. It is advisable to contact WD tech support and replace the device:

You can do so either by phone or email. To Contact WD for Technical Support :

Or, if possible, you can try to take it back to the store where you bought it and replaced.

Actually, we have provided a fix.  You must RMA the device for a replacement.  If your WD TV Live Hub will not power on, you will want to RMA the device for a replacement.  If you have stored information on the internal drive, you can request through WD support to authorize you (do not create an RMA on your own if you will be doing this), as an exception to the warranty, to remove the hard drive and remove the information prior to sending back your device for replacement.  Below, You will find links to our data recovery policy and how to contact support.

People should start searching and reading first before posting a problem. Lately, there are few threads appearing regarding this problem. This problem has been discussed lots of times and the original thread is here http://community.wdc.com/t5/General-Discussions/Help-Hub-powers-up-WD-light-flashes-then-powers-itself-off/td-p/104158/highlight/true

WD’s official fix is found in the last post of that thread and a remedy of that problem can be read in page 7 of that thread.
